My name is David Bellows. I am married, and my wife and I had our son in November of 2017. I was born in Orlando, Florida, but grew up here in San Antonio. Currently, I work full time as a Firefighter for the San Antonio Fire Department. I joined the Fire Department in 2016. In 2006 I joined the Navy and became a rescue swimmer. During my training I was introduced to CrossFit by one of my instructors.
One of the biggest things that drew me to CrossFit was the variations in the workouts and the intensity that can come from something that looks like it would not be super difficult. I got out of the Navy in 2011 and moved back to San Antonio in 2012. I joined Helotes CrossFit shortly after getting back. I was a member for two years before I received my Level 1 certification and started coaching for HCF under Rick. I have always enjoyed helping people reach their goals.
Fitness and health are important to me and I try my best to make sure that everyone who is willing to put forth the effort can achieve their fitness goals. I strongly believe that fitness is not just about showing up to the gym. It takes dedication and drive to truly make the changes that most people want to see. A great coach can help you get out of your comfort zone and accomplish things you did not think were possible. Outside of coaching, I enjoy motorcycles, mountain biking, camping, hiking, skiing.
