My name is Hector Menchaca. I was born in Allende, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and raised in Pleasanton, TX. I am a proud father of two handsome little boys. I enjoy spending time with my boys, barbeque, and long grueling workouts. I joined the U.S. Army in 2011 and I am currently serving on active duty at Fort Sam Houston. I found CrossFit while stationed at Fort Eustis, VA. I immediately fell in love with the camaraderie, focus on skill development, and competitiveness that comes with CrossFit.
I joined Helotes CrossFit in December of 2017 shortly after being stationed at Fort Sam Houston. I had planned on trying out a few CrossFit gyms in the area before making my final decision. I was looking for more than a daily workout, I was looking for a fitness community that felt like family. I dropped in for a workout at HCF and I knew, without a doubt, Helotes CrossFit is the gym for me. When the opportunity to become a coach presented itself, I jumped at the chance. My passion for coaching stems from a passion for helping people become the very best version of themselves. Our only true competition is within ourselves. I will be forever grateful to God for guiding my footsteps to Helotes CrossFit and to the staff and members of HCF for welcoming me into their family. I am truly honored to be a Coach at HCF.
